SHEILA

has been teaching Iyengar Yoga for almost 50 years. During that time I have visited the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune on several occasions, the most recent being in 2025. When possible she attended classes with BKS Iyengar in London and Paris and with Geeta Iyengar in the UK and the US.

She qualified as a Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher in 2000 and I have given most of my working life to studying and teaching both in the UK and abroad.

She began my yoga experience whilst at university. My mum Lilian Biggs (also my teacher until her death in 2005), sent me a copy of ‘Light on Yoga’ by BKS Iyengar.

She qualified to teach Iyengar Yoga in 1980 but have now taught without a break since 1987. She continued to upgrade my teaching certificate with further study, reaching Junior level in 1991 and Senior level in 2000.She is an Assessor for IY(UK) as well as being a mentor and trainer for new teachers and for those who are upgrading their teaching qualifications. She has been a significant contributor to the Board of Directors, Therapy Committee, the Executive Committee and the Assessment and Training Committee. She has also assessed in Hungary on numerous occasions.

YOGA PROPS:
Please bring your own yoga props with you. If you are travelling by air you can rent a yoga prop kit from us for 20 EUR / weekend.
 

TIMING:

• Saturday: 10:00-13:00 and 15:00-17:00
• Sunday: 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00

TRANSLATION / FORDÍTÁS:

For the sake of fluent teaching we keep the translation to the minimum. The workshop will be taught in English.
